PRIDE DANCE/DRILL TEAM

Pride is a precision dance drill team, specializing in a wide variety of dance styles: high kick, pom, jazz, hip-hop, novelty, lyrical, and modern. Pride performs at football games, pep rallies, basketball games, competitions, and other school and community functions.

TRY-OUT PROCEDURES AND ACTIVITY FEES
Members must audition for the team in April of the previous year and pay for all of their uniforms, costumes, and travel expenses, however fundraising is available to help cover costs.
PRACTICES
Pride practices before school at 7:00am as well as during 1st period (counts as a PE or fine arts credit). There will also be after school practices, mainly during football season with the band, but also during preparation for competition and spring show.
Pride emphasizes discipline, responsibility, organization, teamwork, work ethic, positive character, and academic excellence in order to help its members be the best young ladies they can be.
NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
Pride is off to a great summer and has started preparing for their trip to L.A.! The drill team has officially been accepted into the Disney Performing Arts Program and will perform on the new stage at the California Adventure Park in California.
The 2010-2011 dance and social officers completed a four day intensive leadership camp. Kaylin Wang, Meghan Ware, Sylvia Lange and Rachel Meents won the DISCIPLINE award and are bringing new, creative ideas home to Westside.
